Patterson police are investigating an armed robbery of a store that took place shortly after noon Monday, Aug. 20.

A store clerk told police that a male suspect entered the Patterson Liquor and Food gas station at 320 N. Second St. at about 12:30 p.m., showing the clerk a handgun and demanding cash and undisclosed items. The clerk told the investigators the robber left in an unknown direction, according to Patterson Police Sgt. John Walker.

The clerk did not provide any other descriptive details about the suspect, and deputies are reviewing surveillance tapes for clues. The robbery remains under investigation.

It's not the county sheriff that determines staffing, it is, as TIGERS12 mentions, our city council. The same city council that has made sure that the needs of the public (police, fire, infrastructure) are taken care of AFTER they take care of their own needs and those of their supporters. Want our streets to be safe and crime to go down? Elect new council members who will work for all the citizens. We need more officers on the street, and that is up to the elected officials.

@TIGERS12... why does it matter if he's an addict... he's still a human being. god what has this world come to when you classify a person's WORTH by their past?

@sara1986...I was not judging or classifying anyone we are all far from perfect and GOD is my only judge, but people's past and present actions are putting this town in a state of emergency and making it unsafe to live here, drive through the country roads or just plain go to Mcdonalds eg: PRIVATE SECURITY at Mcdonalds. You think the owners know the town better than city council or the sheriffs????
