Patterson resident Bertha Criswell turned 105 on Monday, Aug. 4.

Pictured here, she celebrates with her daughter Ila Kirkley (left), son William Criswell and daughter-in-law Dorris Criswell at her home in Las Palmas Mobile Estates. William and Dorris came all the way up from Arizona for Bertha’s birthday.

Bertha was born in Supply, Arkansas in 1909, and moved to the Patterson-area in 1937 with her husband Birdie Criswell and four children—Ila, William, Norman and Ines—in search of work and a better life. The Patterson Irrigator featured Bertha's story following her 100th birthday in 2009.
