Beware of dog

EDITOR,

Last Thursday, I saw a medium-large, white, pit bull-type dog attack a much smaller dog on the 500 block of F Street.

The small dog was so badly injured that the good people at Apricot Veterinary Clinic could do nothing for him but put him to sleep.

He was microchipped, but the phone numbers were out of service. If someone in the F Street neighborhood has lost a small dog, please know that he died quickly, with kind hands holding him.

The large dog raced through an open gate into a yard that appeared to be his. I strongly recommend that walkers with dogs or small children avoid the 500 block of F Street.

Thanks to the kind people at Apricot Veterinary Clinic; and thanks to Kevin Campbell, pastor at Federated Church, who was in the right place at the right time to prevent prolonged suffering by driving us to the clinic.

Kay Swift, Patterson
