EDITOR,

Since I was forced to retire due to health reasons, I have not been able to be involved with the Del Puerto Health Care District. However, my heart remains with you.

I am writing a letter of support for board candidate Ed Maring. As former CEO, I worked closely with Ed and the board. Ed Maring impressed me with not only his integrity and knowledge of health care district regulations, but also his business and common sense.

A board member does not need to be a doctor or nurse, but certainly does need to know how a good business runs and how to set policy. As a longtime resident of the area and businessman, Ed has shown not only his business savvy, but also his commitment to the community. Ed is dedicated not only to expanding health care access, but also to ensuring the highest quality emergency medical services through Patterson District Ambulance.

Ed was on the board for numerous years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Please vote for Ed Maring and put him back to work for you and your families.

Margo Arnold, Kern County
