The Stanislaus County Fair will host a job fair from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 18 in Building E-1 at the fairgrounds, 900 N. Broadway, in Turlock.

Department supervisors will take applications to fill nearly 500 positions for the 2013 Stanislaus County Fair, which runs July 12 to 21.

Available positions include ticket sellers and takers, customer service representatives, maintenance workers, office staff members, exhibit clerks, livestock crew attendants and security.

The Stanislaus County Fair has been in operation for more than 100 years, beginning as the Melon Carnival in 1911. The fair has grown from 21,000 guests in the 1930s to more than 221,000 visitors in 2012.
