A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, Feb. 22, for Craig “Butch” Moon, Sr., who died on Feb. 9.

Mr. Moon, loving father of Rick, Jay and Craig, passed away at the young age of 68.

He was born in Stockton and raised in San Joaquin County. Upon meeting the love of his life, Susan “Suzy” he moved to Patterson where he raised his three towheads. A kid at heart, who enjoyed collecting classic cars and all that was classic. His knowledge and fascination with classic cars kept him busy. He enjoyed trading, buying and selling cars, motorcycles, dirt bikes and anything that sparked his interest. He made sure his boys always had the latest and greatest gadgets, and fastest cars in town.

Mr. Moon enjoyed working on his many Harley's and going on bike runs with Suzy and friends. Dirt biking in Del Puerto Canyon, fishing along the San Joaquin River and attending swap meets were some of his favorite pastimes. Weekends at his parents’ home in Tracy, surrounded by his family, were some of his fondest memories. Butch was a skilled mechanic and truck driver. He was owner/operator of Moon Trucking for over 20 years.

Mr. Moon is survived by his loving wife, Susan; sons Rick, Jay and Craig and wife, Elizabeth. He leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Kristopher Moon, Courtney Moon, Stephanie Clardy, Melanie Moon, Samantha Morales, Kendra Moon, and Jayson Moon. His siblings, Larry Moon and his wife, Melinda, Lee and Nelson Mahan, Darlene and Joe Britanico and Grace and Tony Tejada, also survive him. Last but not least he leaves behind his loving pets, Precious and Riley.

Mr. Moon was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley, and stepfather, Nelson Maham. His laugh and young heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22 at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., in Patterson.
