March 25, 1930 — June 22, 2013

A vigil service will be conducted Wednesday, June 26 for Dorothy Jean Luiz of Patterson, who died on Saturday, June 22 at her residence.

Mrs. Luiz, 83, was born in Mobile, Ala., and was a resident of Patterson for 40 years. She was married on July 5, 1952 to Walter Luiz. Mrs. Luiz was a homemaker and very active in the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Indian Guides, Little League, Del Puerto Hospital Auxiliaries, Xi Theta Lambda, and a host of organizations benefiting the community. She enjoyed many crafting activities including scrap booking, jewelry making and flower arrangements. She will be extremely missed by those who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Luiz is survived by her husband, Walter C. Luiz; sons, Mike, and wife Gina Luiz and Mark Luiz; daughters, Mindy Silveira and Michelle Luiz; grandchildren, Christina, Benjamin, China, Asia, Loni and Neal; great-grandchildren, Bella Rose, Delilah and Maddox.

A recitation of the rosary and a Vigil Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26 at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., in Patterson.
