Patterson junior Nathan Stanton placed 14th out of 228 runners with a time of 16 minutes, 49 seconds on the three-mile varsity boys course. He is expected to compete in the Sac-Joaquin Section meet Saturday, Nov. 10, at Willow Hill in Folsom.
Sophomore Lupe Ventura led Patterson’s junior varsity girls team with a time of 14:25, good enough for seventh place on the two-mile course. She, too, qualified for the section meet.
The Patterson JV boys team has three runners ready to move on to sectional competition.
Antonio Venegas set the pace for Patterson with a 16th-place finish and a time of 12:41. Teammates Devin Burnett (19th, 12:48) and Dylan Halland (32nd, 13:02) qualified to race in Folsom, too.
Only the top 10 teams and the 10 fastest individual runners are eligible to run in Saturday’s section meet.
