After trailing Los Banos by 12 points in the second quarter, the Tigers rallied to wrap up the nonleague portion of their schedule with a victory.

Patterson (7-3) was led by Ivan Ornales with 12 points, while teammate Pierre Williams added 11.

On Dec. 27, Patterson lost to Buhach Colony High of Atwater 55-38. Williams had nine points and Marlon Cortez scored six points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Tigers.

Ornales and Angel Rojas had 11 points apiece to lift Patterson over Merced High, 54-42, as the tournament opened Dec. 26.

It's the second time this season the Tigers have beaten Merced.

The Tigers will open their WAC season with a 4:30 p.m. game against visiting Livingston High on Friday, Jan. 3.
