Stanislaus County Sheriff's Sergeant Keith Rakoncza said Thursday, Jan. 30 that the victim of the kidnapping was an adult male who works at Charlie's Market on the 6000 block of Crows Landing Road in Ceres.
Investigators say the victim was abducted at the Patterson Walmart by a masked man and forced by gunpoint to drive his vehicle back to the market. The gunman forced the victim to open the store and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The masked gunman then fled on foot in an unknown direction. Investigators say the victim believed they were being followed by someone in a white or silver BMW X5 sport utility vehicle.
