A 26-year-old man received non-life-threatening wounds to the legs and chest early Monday, May 14, after he appeared to be shot in a south Patterson parking lot, according to police.

Deputies fund the victim on the 400 block of South Third Street after someone reported the shooting to emergency dispatchers at 3:55 a.m. Deputies think the shooting happened in the parking lot of a business on the nearby 200 block of E Street.

The victim, who was transported to the emergency room via ambulance, did not provide deputies with information related to the shooting, according to Sgt. Anthony Bejaran. The victim only said he did not know who had shot him.

Police are calling for anyone with information about the incident to contact Patterson Police Services at 892-5071. Callers can also leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at 521-4636. In addition, people can email tips at www.modestopolice.com/CrimeStoppers, or text them to CRIMES (274637) by typing “Tip704” plus the message. Tipsters will be eligible for a cash reward.
