A press release sent to the Irrigator late last week stated that at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, an unknown male entered the restaurant and demanded money from the cash registers while simulating having a weapon, although none was seen, according to Patterson Police Services Sergeant Paul Yotsuya.
The suspect, described as being a tall stocky black male, possibly in his 40’s, had a camouflage bandana covering his lower face and a grey hooded sweatshirt with dark blue sleeves and a vertical stripe down the front during the robbery. He fled the area with an undisclosed amount of money. Responding deputies set a perimeter and searched the area for the suspect to no avail.
Wednesday evening’s robbery came only a week after Patterson’s Dollar Tree store was robbed at gunpoint by an assailant with a single barrel shotgun, and only four days following the robbery of the Papa Murphy’s business by an assailant with the same description as the McDonald’s robber.
While the suspects in both incidents had very similar descriptions, authorities have not yet been able to determine that both suspects are one in the same, according to Sergeant Paul Yotsuya.
Requests to speak with McDonald’s management by the Irrigator were not returned.
