The Tigers won 11 of the 14 matches, including nine by pin.
The Wolves got out to a 5-0 lead before Patterson (2-1 overall, 1-0 WAC) took five straight bouts to stage a comeback.
At 120 pounds, junior Jordan Canseco recorded a pin in 3 minutes, 29 seconds over Livingston’s Lymbny Garibay.
Sophomore Daniel Cota (126 pounds) recorded his pin in the third round after earning a quick takedown and locking up Livingston’s Christian Mancera.
The Tigers also benefited from a pin by sophomore Dylan Christiansen in the 132-pound class. Christiansen squeezed Eulalio Ruiz’s shoulders to the mat in just more than three minutes.
Manuel Cruz (138) and Joseph Ruelas (145), both juniors, won by decision to give Patterson a commanding 26-5 advantage.
Austin Lewis (152), a sophomore, lost by decision and Daniel Linares (160), a junior, lost by pin before the Tigers won the final six matches of the night by pin.
Sophomore Eloa Chadwick (170) won with a first-round pin; freshman Jerry Arredondo (182) pinned his opponent in the first round; sophomore Francisco Plascencia (195) won with a third-round pin; sophomore Anthony Lucero (220) pinned his opponent in the first round; Armando Saucedo (heavyweights) won with a first-round pin; and Sean DeOcampo (106) pinned his opponent in the first round.
Junior varsity
The JV Tigers opened the WAC season with a 46-30 win over Livingston on Dec. 12.
Patterson won four of the 14 matches by pin, one by decision and three by forfeit.
Antonio Vasquez (126) pinned his opponent in the third round; Aiden Fredrickson (132) won with a first-round pin; Keith Gordon (138) pinned his opponent in the first round; Brandon Rice (145) won a 14-7 decision; and Brad Gill (170) won with a third-round pin.
