The Patterson High Tigers will meet the Livingston Wolves on the gridiron Friday, Oct. 5, at Patterson Community Stadium, the climax of homecoming activities with the theme “Livin’ in the USA.”
Students have celebrated with dress-up days, a pep rally and the traditional crowing of royalty — princes and princesses from the freshman, sophomore and junior classes and a senior king and queen.
In keeping with the theme of the week, the student body chose various states to focus on: freshmen, Nevada; sophomores, New York; juniors, Texas; and seniors, California.
On Monday, the homecoming king and princes were crowned during the girls volleyball game against Los Banos. The freshman prince is Michael Lawson, sophomore prince is DeOnte West, junior prince is Francisco Maldonado and senior king is Blake Mahan.
Highlights still to come include Friday’s homecoming parade, which begins at 12:15 p.m. at the high school and will circle through downtown Patterson from North Seventh Street to West Las Palmas Avenue, around the circle and back up West Las Palmas to the school.
The junior varsity football game against Livingston begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday, followed by the varsity game at 7:30 p.m. The homecoming princesses and queen will be crowned during halftime at each game.
A homecoming dance will follow from 9 p.m. to midnight in the school gym. Entry costs $7 at the door.
