From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 12, Patterson High School Staff and Students will be hosting a Drive Thru Chicken Barbecue at Patterson High School in the new parking lot on Seventh Street in front of the PHS main office. All proceeds of this Barbecue will go to help two students at Patterson High School and their families as both students continue their fight against cancer.

Seth Fairchild is a 12th grade student Patterson High

He has shown for the past few years what Tiger Pride is all about with keeping high grades and his continue fight against cancer. Seth has been attending Patterson High School this year after spending all of last year at home and in the hospital going through treatment. Seth’s Family learned this past Thursday that Seth has a lump in his pancreas now and that it has grown 4 mm in the past 3 months. This may be a simple calcium deposit, as he is on over 2000 mg/day of calcium, due to his leg surgery. An MRI is in his near future, as is most likely a biopsy. For more information on Seth, read:

Samantha Calvert is a 10th grade student at Patterson High School

She is a member of FFA, Band, and AVID. Her friendly demeanor, high grades, and involvement in co-curricular activities are prime examples of what Tiger Pride is all about. Samantha Calvert was recently diagnosed with Stage two Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

One hundred percent of all sales for the barbecue will go to help ease the financial burden for both these students and give them tools necessary to continually be successful PHS students as they already have continued to show. This is a joint effort of many groups at Patterson High School including Patterson Gridiron Club, Patterson ASB, FFA, Be the Change Club, and Phast club.

Their goal is to sell 400 drive thru meals and raise up to 4,000 dollars to help these families.

The chicken barbecue meal will consist of: Chicken, Beans, Salad, Roll, and cookie at a cost of 10 dollars per person.

Please email Tony Lomeli at or at the school at 209-892-4750 for tickets or donations.
