Patterson Recognizing Individuals Determined to Excel awarded $61,350 in scholarships and awards to graduating Patterson High School and Del Puerto High School seniors in the Clara Johnson Auditorium on May 13.

Eighth-through 11th-grade Honor Scholars, students who are the top in academics in their classes, were also awarded a total of $4,700 in annuities, procuring a grand total of $66,050 for this year’s students.

PRIDE began more than10 years ago when a group of local people got together with leftover bond money of $10,000. The group has grown over the years into a community-based corporation that gives out scholarships for post-secondary education.
