More than 100 people were in the audience at the Clara Johnson Memorial Auditorium at Patterson High School, 200 N Seventh St., to see the youth perform.
The winners of the event, called “Patterson’s Got Talent,” are Jerome Hughes and Gregg Walker, both 12, who won first place and $50 each for their dance performance. Jerome and Gregg are in seventh grade at Creekside Middle School.
Two Creekside eighth-graders finished in a tie for second place — Amari Barfield for singing and Shana Vaid for playing the flute. Each of the 13-year-olds received $30.
Sisters Aubrey Garcia, 11, a sixth-grader at Creekside, and Isabelle Garcia, 10, a fourth-grader at Northmead Elementary School, received $20 each for their third-place win for dancing.
Judges for the finals were Lori Schumacher, Center for Human Services program director; Alysonn Cassidy, Patterson Joint Unified School District coordinator of Afterschool Programs and Adrienne Chaney, director of Recreation and Community Services, City of Patterson.
