The state agrees with the local Chamber of Commerce that three signals are needed on railroad crossings of the highway between Patterson and Vernalis. However, funding is not yet available.
The American Legion post is studying a proposal to sponsor a youth organization offering “boys someplace to go after school.”
Flocks of chickens in the Patterson and Crows Landing areas are being attacked and killed by vicious swarms of gnats.

100 years ago — March 27, 1913
It was first thought that Patterson might not have speakers interested enough in participating in the new Library and Debating Club. But at last week’s meeting, the talks became long-winded and speakers were encouraged to sit down.
The local institute of the Women’s Christian Temperance Movement met and experienced a lively program in which several papers on temperance were presented.
A sidewalk will be poured in front of the downtown Del Puerto Club.
The Patterson Ranch Co. has installed automatic sprinklers for the lawn at the Hotel del Puerto and the H.L. Ward residence.
The first joint session of the combined Presbyterian and Methodist Sunday schools was held Sunday and officers were elected.
