Once again, Ron Swift has inspired me to put pen to paper.
His observations of Troy McComak’s bid for mayor in his Fast Talk column (“Something to smile about in local politics,” Oct. 25, Page 13) got me to thinking. While Mr. McComak’s candidacy may be something to smile about, it is also rather refreshing. Having someone who makes his own signs offers a personal touch that is certainly refreshing. And to have an individual in office who is not a politician or tainted by special interests is a unique opportunity.
If only we had that option on the national level!
