First-place at the elementary school level went to Ariana Morales, second-place to Rylee Cozart and third-place to Daniel Valerde. All are third-graders at Walnut Grove Elementary School.

On the secondary level, Ivan Orozco won first-place, Aimee Bellville took second and Izaac Ruiz was third. Ivan and Izaac are sixth-graders and Aimee is an eighth-grader. All attend Walnut Grove.

The young writers received certificates of recognition and their writing was submitted to the Apricot Fiesta Prose and Poetry Contest.
