For the first time in four months, Sterling Ramirez, a Patterson High senior, won’t be playing tennis.

Ramirez ended his successful high school career in the second round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II tournament Thursday, May 2, at the Johnson Ranch Racquet Club in Roseville.

He lost a three-set match to Scott Putty of Bella Vista High of Fair Oaks, 7-5, 3-6, 2-6.

Ramirez, owner of a 10-2 record in the regular season, enjoyed a first-round win over Jacob Farmer of River Valley High of Yuba City, 6-2, 7-5.
