The Patterson High varsity boys soccer team’s Western Athletic Conference schedule required the Tigers to rally quickly after their 4-0 defeat at Central Valley High of Ceres on Oct. 15.

Patterson (14-3 overall, 6-3 WAC) repented a shutout loss with a 10-2 blowout home victory Thursday, Oct. 17 over Los Banos High.

Patterson’s offense posted big numbers and put the team ahead early.

Andres Herrera had five goals to lead the Tigers to a rout over Los Banos at Patterson Community Stadium.

The Tigers also received a pair of goals from Yehia Obeid.

Carlos Martinez, Marcos Melendez and Israel Sotelo also tallied a score apiece for Patterson, who regrouped for a victory over Los Banos after suffering its third loss of the league season last week against the first-place Central Valley Hawks (9-0 WAC).

With the win, Patterson remains in third place in the conference standings, one game behind second-place Ceres High (7-2 WAC).

Patterson continues league play on the road at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, against Pacheco High of Los Banos.
