A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 8 for Tony James Peters of Turlock, who died Thursday, Aug. 1 at Paramount Court Senior Living in Turlock.

Mr. Peters, 89, was born in Santa Cruz and was a resident of Turlock for two years. He previously lived in Vernalis, Crows Landing and Rio Linda. He worked for Mc Clellan Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic for 30 years and was a United States Army Corps veteran. He graduated from Orestimba High School in Newman, had a passion for flying airplanes and enjoyed motorcycles and photography.

His sister, Lena Peters of Patterson and nieces and nephews survive Mr. Peters. His brothers, John Peters, Louie Peters and Leroy Peters, preceded him in death.

A visitation will be observed from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, Aug. 8 followed by a funeral Mass at 12 noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 I St., in Patterson. Burial will follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
