An alumni basketball game scheduled for Patterson High School on Wednesday, Nov. 27, that was to include former Tiger boys and girls athletes has been cancelled.

Tiger graduates will go head-to-head in the second Patterson High School Alumni vs. Alumni Game on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

The event tips off at 6 p.m. inside the school's gymnasium with a basketball matchup between former Patterson boys hoops standouts, followed by another tilt between former Tiger girls ballers at 7:30 p.m.

"It's not only a great fundraiser, but a great way to get everyone together," said Patterson girls basketball coach Elizabeth Tolleson. "We want people to come back and support the local high school players."

The game raises money to provide the school's girls basketball program with equipment for the season and to help with travel expenses.

Tolleson said she hoped to showcase about 50 of Patterson Tigers’ alumni.

"We always talk about stories from the past, but the girls really don't pay attention because they can't put a face with the name," Tolleson said. "After watching the alumni play, (our current players) can find out who holds what all-time school records, and they can see the person who they have to beat out."

Participation costs $25, and includes a tee shirt and access to the event's hospitality room. Spectators can enter free.
