Unwanted street sweepers

EDITOR,

Hello. I received a fancy, full color, thick paper communication in the mail from the City of Patterson today that I had already read online (thanks to the communication in my last bill) about the new street-sweeping schedule. Beginning July 1, the city will get once-per-week sweeping, again.

I am wondering, why!?! There is nothing on my streets in July. There are a lot of leaves in the street during the fall. Why are they starting this now?

I want to know why we are paying for weekly street sweeping in July when, at least in my neighborhood, there is nothing to sweep. I want to know who runs the sweeper, and who they are friends with on the council.

The city council approved this? Please investigate who asked for it! Why not wait till the leaves fall? Anyone who has seen the sweeper knows it doesn't really help anything in the dry months.

The city is wasting money again! C'mon, Molina!
