At approximately 8:42 p.m. Thursday, March 6, Patterson Police Sgt. Paul Yotsuya said residents called in to report a shooting at Felipe Garza Park in east Patterson. According to Sgt. Yotsuya, Patterson Police Services received another call while reporting to the scene concerning a Hispanic male who was found to be shot in the back on Las Palmas Ave and Elm Street. They immediately fled Garza Park to retrieve the victim.

The victim was airlifted to an area hospital following the retrieval; his wounds are non-life threatening, said Sgt. Yotsuya. The victim has been identified, but will remain nameless due to safety concerns.

On Friday morning, March 7, Patterson Police released information pinpointing the 300 block of Chase Street as the designated shooting area. Further information is pending as the case is currently under investigation.
