June 25, 1928 – Dec. 24, 2013

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, Jan. 4 for Vynita Rose of Turlock, who died on Dec. 24.

Mrs. Rose, 85, was born in Lees Summit, Missouri to Fred and Merle Halcomb. She moved to California at a young age and lived in the Placerville area before the family moved to Patterson in the early 1940s. Mrs. Rose married her high school sweetheart Anthony Rose in 1948. Mrs. Rose was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, according to her family. Mrs. Rose was active in many things, she loved her horses, painting, crafts and most of all her bowling. She was a member of the WIBC and ABC.

Mrs. Rose is survived by the husband of 65 years, Anthony “Tony” Rose of Turlock, children Tom and his wife, Pat Rose of Patterson, Carolyn and her husband, Mike Mendonca of Denair; her grandchildren, Anthony and his wife, Kaelyn Mendonca of Seattle and Joseph Mendonca (Cindy Wong) of Union City and her sisters, Donna (Charlie) Del Nero and Betty Williams.

The Saturday, Jan. 4 memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. at Turlock Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquest Rd, Turlock

Donations can be made in Mrs. Rose’s memory to Covenant Care Hospice, 1850 Colorado Ave, Turlock CA 95382 or charity of the donor’s choice.

Turlock Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Turlock, is handling the arrangements.
