A rainstorm didn't discourage the droves of local families who descended on the brightly lit downtown streets Saturday, Dec. 4, for Patterson-Westley Chamber of Commerce's annual Downtown Christmas Open House and Holiday Parade. Hundreds of people showed up for the parade, which included 20 entries, making it the most well-attended event in recent memory. Earlier in the day, were on hand at the In Town Holiday Mall at the Federated Methodist-Presbyterian Church Hall, where residents could purchase dried fruits, homemade goods and various other gifts.
