A short time later, deputies spoke with the man when he returned to the hospital for medical attention. Though the man refused to cooperate, officers gathered through witness reports that he had been injured when three teenage boys had fired several rounds at the truck he was riding in with a friend, in the same area of east Patterson where police had earlier been dispatched.
The shooter was described as 5 feet tall and perhaps 15 or 16 years old, wearing a dark baseball cap and a khaki striped shirt. A second suspect was described as about 5 feet, 11 inches tall. All three suspects were thought to be Latino.
