The elections office began mailing out sample ballot booklets this week, and Lundrigan anticipates that permanent vote-by-mail and all-mail precinct ballots will be sent out starting Friday, Oct. 14.
U.S. citizens may continue to register to vote until 15 days before the election. The Stanislaus County Registrar of Voters will accept voter registrations through Oct. 24, a Monday.

Open-studio tour seeking artists
The Stanislaus County Artists Open Studio Tour organizers hope to have greater participation by West Side artists in Patterson, Westley, Crows Landing and Newman. The event will take place April 15 and 16 at artists’ studios throughout the county.
The deadline for artists who want their work to be considered for purchase or for awards is Nov. 20. The final day to sign up to participate as an artist on the tour of open studios is Jan. 6. Each artist must pay a $20 fee.

Artists needed for school lessons
The Stanislaus Arts Council is seeking professional artists for paid positions to teach for Stanislaus Artists as Resources to Schools programs. Artists work with all levels of students, from preschool onward, throughout the county.
Areas of interest are music, dance, theater arts, drawing, painting, cartooning, storytelling, paper arts, collage, mask making, fiber arts, sculpture and graphic design.
