The upcoming vote on June 5 to extend a very small tax to continue the library system in Stanislaus County is one we should all support. Note that it is not a new tax, but an extension of what we have been paying since 1995.
Local library services include story time and learning the importance and joy of reading, free computer online services, book delivery and large-print editions for seniors, a safe place to study for teenagers, economic information for businesses, and accessing job applications, employment services, and job training resources. No wonder our branch library is usually busy.
That’s quite an important list, and reasons enough to vote in favor of Measure T.
