EDITOR,

This is an important time in the history of Stanislaus County. The voters in our county have a great opportunity to make a difference in the way our voices are heard in Washington D.C. We have to ask ourselves, do we want a Congress filled with puppets or a congressman who is independent and will work for us?

The Democrats have a “hand-picked” candidate from Texas while the Republicans have a candidate who voted the “party line” 97 percent of the time and owes his allegiance to Grover Norquist and not the people of our congressional district. We need and deserve better representation than this. We need Chad Condit in Congress.

Chad Condit will be our independent voice in Congress. He knows our district and understands what we need. He will listen to us and be our voice in Washington. Our district has always prided itself on our independent spirit. Now is the time to stand up and be counted. Now is the time to send Chad Condit to Congress.
