I am a Girl Scout, responding to the article in the June 14 edition of the Irrigator with a headline of “Police chief suggests more security to keep skate park safe” (Page 7). I am happy to know that action is being taken, as my family and I have driven past the park many times to see almost everyone without a helmet. We have been wondering when this would happen.
I can see the pros and cons of having an 8-foot fence. I also approve of having a security guard there, because misbehaving would be spotted right away. I am not so sure if moving the teen center is worth it, though.
All and all, I approve of this article, and I am glad the matter has been brought to the attention of the community.
