Bull runs are risky, foolish

EDITOR,

The “red flags” are evident (due to prior such events) before the start of the yearly bull runs in Spain.

One wonders, why should these “runs” continue when they offer injuries and even possible death to humans, and what types of mentalities do the organizers possess who authorize such rash associations of bulls and people?

Ron Swift, in his Fast Talk column in the July 12 edition of the Patterson Irrigator, handled the topic extremely well (“World makes no sense sometimes,” Page 13).
