A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 31, for Rufina Fuentes Garza of Patterson, who died Friday, Aug. 24, at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
Mrs. Garza, 64, was a native of Donna, Texas, and was a resident of Patterson for 47 years. Mrs. Garza was a supervisor for a Child Care Center for 26 years and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with the grandchildren and lunch dates with her sisters.
Mrs. Garza is survived by her husband, Andres Garza, Sr. of Patterson; son, Andres Garza, Jr. of Delhi; daughter, Veronica Vasquez of Patterson; brother, Manuel Maya of Modesto; sisters, Rebecca De La Rosa of Modesto, Elida Villa of Patterson and Sylvia Rivera of Turlock and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Aurora Maya.
A visitation will be observed from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, followed by a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., Patterson. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 I St., Patterson. Burial will follow in Patterson District Cemetery, 10800 Highway 33, Patterson.
