The result sheet punctuated the depth of the host team’s runaway win Sept. 26 at T.W. Patterson Sports Park.
The Patterson High boys team (3-1 WAC) defeated the Central Catholic Raiders 15-48 and the Pacheco Panthers 21-34.
Patterson’s Nathan Stanton won the 3.1-mile race with a time of 16 minutes, 49 seconds. He was followed by teammate Ben Vega (19:15) in third.
Close behind for the Tigers were Antonio Venegas (19:21) in fourth, Julius Flores (19:57) in fifth, Jose Jaramillo (20:53) in eighth, Joey Howard (22:01) in 12th and Christian Barba (22:50) in 15th.
The Patterson varsity girls team (2-2) narrowly fell to Central Catholic, 26-31, while besting Pacheco, 26-29.
The local team’s scoring was led by Lupe Ventura, winner of the girls 3.1-mile race, who finished in 21:27. Teammate Jenevy Esqueda was seventh (26:25), followed seconds later by Gracie Bradley in eighth (26:45). Stephany Esqueda placed ninth (27:09), Amanda Melendez 19th (34:30) and Adrianna Rodriguez 20th (35:36), rounding out the team’s top times.
Patterson’s junior varsity boys team (4-0) also cruised to a double meet win.
The JV Tigers outscored Pacheco 22-35. Central Catholic was unable to field a complete squad and was forced to forfeit the league race to Patterson.
Patterson had the top four finishers in the 2-mile race: Devin Burnette (12:32), Dylan Christiansen (13:02), Sean Hicks (13:10) and Carlos Ponce (13:57).
