Sarah Sanchez led the Tigers (5-7 WAC) with a score of 52 on the par-36 course.
“Sarah was the match medalist, and we played very well as a team to finish the regular season with a win,” said Patterson coach Jason Oliveira. “(Sanchez’s) game is in a great place right now, and she has a lot of confidence.”
Also contributing to the victory were Veronica Benitez (62), Dayna Hansen (62) and Simone Grice (64).
The win followed a 209-241 defeat by traditional league powerhouse Central Catholic at Dryden Park in Modesto on Oct. 9 .
During that match as well, Sanchez was her team’s top golfer, with a score of 50 on the par-36 course.
“Sarah showed that she is among the league’s best golfers by finishing with the fourth lowest round of the day,” Oliveira said. “She’s gaining confidence with each round and is getting into a good rhythm as we wind the season down.”
Rounding out Patterson’s score were Benitez (62), Grice (63) and Hansen (66).
The Tigers concluded their league season at the WAC tournament Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Diablo Grande Golf and Country Club.
“We will come out Wednesday to have some fun and hope that our hard work all season will be evident in how we perform,” Oliveira said. “I do know one thing — our girls will give great effort and compete for their school with pride.”
Tournament results were not available at press time.
