Patterson High School Principal David Stubbs nominated Carmina Gonzales, the high school’s counseling clerk.
Gonzales moved into the position at the end of the 2011-12 school year amid challenging circumstances, but she adapted well, Stubbs said.
“She was quick to organize the office and made it more efficient while learning a new job,” he said.
Arturo Duran, the principal of Grayson Charter School, recognized Ondina Cisneros, a first-grade teacher.
“Ondina constantly refines her teaching techniques to meet the needs of her students,” Duran said. “She collaborates and meets with her grade level partner on a regular basis to share and refine their team teaching.”
Duran also noted that Cisneros has taken on leadership roles at the charter school, volunteering for committees on writing and various other subjects.
Each of the honorees received a gift card, a keychain and a certificate.
