‘Macbeth’ on local stage

DETAILS: Patterson Repertory Theater’s production of William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” is a bloody tale of greed, power and lust. The play, under the direction of Joshua Morriston, will transport the audience to another world with witches, incantations and mysticism. The show repeats at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, and Saturday, Nov. 3, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4.

Christmas boutique open to public

DETAILS: The Hammon Senior Center Christmas Boutique includes a donation drawing for a queen-sized quilt, handmade by the Senior Center Crafters, depicting flowers and vegetables grown by early colonists of North America. Christmas items, jewelry, quilts and wall hangings will also be sold to raise money for activities and trips for local seniors.

Low-cost flu shot clinic
WHEN: 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: Northmead Elementary School cafeteria, 625 L St.
DETAILS: This low-cost seasonal vaccination clinic is sponsored by Stanislaus County Health Services Agency. This year’s seasonal flu vaccine protects against three strains of flu. Adults covered by Anthem Blue Cross Managed Care, Health Net Managed Care, Medicare Part B or Medi-Cal are not required to pay for the vaccine. Those covered by private insurance or a Medicare Advantage Plan should receive vaccinations from their health care provider or may pay $25 at the clinic. Patients who have no insurance coverage will be asked to pay $25, although inability to pay will not be a barrier. The vaccine costs $10 for any child 6 months to 18 years old.

Top spellers compete

WHO: Boys and girls in fourth to sixth grades in Patterson Joint Unified School District will participate in the county-wide elementary school spelling championship. The event is open to the public. More than 20 county schools are slated to have students participate. The top spellers from the elementary championship will represent the county April 20 in statewide competition in Stockton.

Veterans Day celebrated
WHEN: 11 a.m.
WHERE: South Park on the Circle
DETAILS: A Veterans Day ceremony in the park, organized by the Elijah B. Hayes American Legion Post No. 168 and the legion’s women’s auxiliary, is open to all members of the community. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and American Heritage Girls will join the veterans, and the young people of the community can tell what Veterans Day means to them.
