Young women ages 17 to 19 who live within the Patterson Joint Unified School District can apply for the contest, which takes place each year in conjunction with the annual Patterson Apricot Fiesta.
Sixteen-year-olds may be eligible if they are at least high school juniors.
Contestants must have a 2.5 or better cumulative GPA or a high school diploma. Those who have been married, borne a child, been expelled from school or been convicted of any crime are disqualified.
Each Miss Patterson contestant is responsible for finding an organization or individual to be her sponsor and for submitting a sponsor fee of $300.
Applications are available by appointment until Feb. 28. Completed applications must be returned to pageant organizers at the Apricot Fiesta office, 28 Ossie St., no later than 7 p.m. Feb. 28.
The fiesta is May 31 and June 1 and 2 this year.
