Sarah, the 14-year old daughter of Ann Truxton of Patterson and Stephen Truxton of Sacramento, will travel to the State Capitol in March to receive her awards: a medal, an e-reader and $100 worth of classroom agriculture materials for her teacher, Judee Sani.
Sarah’s story, “The Tomato’s Charade,” tells the tale of the town of Veggie Ville, where everyone loves vegetables. Then townsfolk find out all about tomatoes, and that changes things a bit.
The story, which will be published in a book with other statewide winners, can be read in full at www.cfaitc.org/imaginethis/2012.
The California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom aims to help students and teachers gain an understanding of agriculture.
