The Tigers (3-0) bested visiting Central Valley High of Ceres 6-3 on Feb. 27 and then recorded a pair of victories on the road, beating Livingston High 6-3 on Feb. 28 and Los Banos High 5-4 on Monday, March 4.
Against Los Banos, the Tigers won five of their six singles matches.
At No. 1 singles, Sterling Ramirez gave the Tigers a 6-2, 6-2 win against J.T. Barcellos.
John Minton bested Luke Sanchez 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
John Brouse followed with a straight-set win over Josh Carlucci at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-0.
Francisco Lagarde earned a No. 5 singles victory over Elias Navarro of Los Banos in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
At No. 6 singles, Dylan Halland of Patterson beat Jacob Manriquez 6-3, 6-1.
Patterson captured four of its six singles matches and two of three doubles matches against Livingston.
At No. 1 singles, Ramirez triumphed 6-1, 6-3 over Jacob Mercado. Patterson’s No. 2 singles player, Minton, bested Edgar Mejia 6-1, 7-5. At No. 3 singles, James Shugan took a 7-6, 6-2 win over Alex Mercado. And Halland picked up the victory at No. 6 singles, topping Jose Valdivia 6-1, 6-0.
Damarrio Hammonds and Daniel Cota were straight-set winners at No. 2 doubles, besting Jaime Merino and Homero Gervin 6-1, 6-0. Chris Carlson and Matt Valverde, the No. 3 pair, added the Tigers’ final win of the match.
Patterson put together a perfect 6-0 match in singles play against Central Valley in the season opener.
Ramirez easily beat Alexis Zigala 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Minton took a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Alex Hernandez at No. 2, and Shugan downed Alexis Villa 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3.
Lagarde got past Edgar Castillo 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4 singles. Brouse was a straight-set winner at No. 5, topping Brandyn Weis 6-0, 6-1, and Halland, at No. 6, claimed a 6-2, 7-6 victory over Wing Chang.
