The Tigers (4-5) finished the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record.
“The girls should be extremely proud of what they accomplished,” said Patterson coach Jennifer Hamm. “This tournament was by far the best the girls have looked all season, and they are just getting better and better.”
Patterson played two games Saturday, cruising to a 15-1 win over Davis High of Modesto before defeating Modesto Christian.
“The players are really starting to show how good they really are,” Hamm said. “It’s a completely different team than how we started. They are more focused on the game, keeping outside distractions from getting in their way, and are keeping their mistakes to a minimum.”
Patterson claimed a 10-6 victory over Turlock High in the tournament opener March 6, and Riverbank High forfeited the second game.
Hamm said the team’s performance bodes well for the rest of the season.
“I do not consider these girls young players anymore,” Hamm said. “These are all varsity veterans and they proved that to themselves over the weekend. They now know what they are capable of, and from here they can continue to build on top of that.”
Patterson opens Western Athletic Conference play at 4 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Livingston High.
