Years ago, we were taught how to use a thing called a map. Today, if you have navigation on your phone, “she” talks to you. You type in where you want to go and eventually “she” gives you directions on how to get to your destination. Have you experienced the moment when “she” tells you to “at the next left, make a U-turn”? “She” doesn’t talk back, “she” just keeps telling you what to do to go where you’re trying to get.
There is another tool that’s available to help us navigate our everyday lives. When you open this tool, “He” speaks in a way that gives us directions to find our way through the challenges of our life.
You and I are used to traveling, going where we want. Too many times, though, we think we know the right way. Too many turns later, we find ourselves at the wrong place, the bad side of life, or the place where people get hurt.
When “He” gives us directions, sometimes we’re not sure about where He’s leading us. One thing is sure — “He” always leads us to the right place, the good side of life, and the place where people find healing and hope.
How can we hear what “He” is telling us? First, we have to want to hear. Second, go to the Smart Book, God’s Word. Third, when “He” speaks through the Smart Book, follow his directions. You may think you’re going in a different direction, and you would be right. Keep listening and “He” will guide your life travels to better life places.
