Friends of the Patterson Library will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 8, at the library, 46 N. Salado Ave., to make final preparations for their used-book sale from Tuesday, April 9, to April 15.

Friends of the Library members will have exclusive access to the sale from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday. New members can pay membership fees that day to join.

Dues are $150 for a life membership, $10 per year for individuals and $20 per year for families and businesses.

The sale will be open to the general public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, and Thursday, April 11, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 15.

Items will be priced at 50 cents each for paperback books and $1 each for hardcover books, CDs, video tapes and DVDs. Children’s books are 25 to 50 cents each.

Materials will be sold at a reduced rate of $5 per bag on the final day of the sale.

The group’s book sales in April and October are its main fundraisers for the library. Money earned from the sales supports children’s programs at the library, buys new books, pays for subscriptions and protective covers for magazines, and covers repair and replacement costs for children’s books.
