  • WHAT: Patterson Planning Commission meeting

  • WHEN: 7 p.m. Thursday

  • WHERE: City Hall, Council Chambers, 1 Plaza Circle

A proposal to expand Patterson’s city limits will go before the Patterson Planning Commission on Thursday.

If approved, the proposal would pave the way for almost 55 acres of new industrial land east of Highway 33 close to Poppy Avenue. It would also set the stage for 290 acres of city-owned land to be brought into the proper city fold.

Much of the city-owned land is adjacent to the water treatment facility on Poplar Avenue. However, much of it is made up of small, unconnected parcels scattered to the east and south of the city. Almost all the city holdings are related to water and sewer service.

The industrial project proposes establishing 20 lots ranging in sizes from .52 acres to 6.8 acres.

Even if the commission grants its approval, the Patterson City Council and the Local Agency Formation Commission would have to agree before the annexations become final.
