A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, April 26 for Opal Jackson Peters of Manteca, who died on Thursday, April 4 at the age of 91 years. She was born on April 24, 1921 in Yuma, Ariz., the 10th of 13 children born to Mulford and Nettie Hulstine Johnson.
Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her husbands, Doyle Jackson of Patterson (22 years) and Thess Peters of Manteca (49 years); daughter, Janiece Jackson; sons, Kenneth and Gerald Jackson; and twin great-granddaughters Haylie and Rebecca Hibbitts.
She is survived by two sisters, Joy Walker of Crossville, Tenn and Louise Peters of Bakersfield; two daughters-in-law, Marlene Jackson of Denair and Janice Jackson of Auburn; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Peters was a kind and loving lady to many who knew her, according to her family. She especially enjoyed her flower garden and playing penny poker with family. Special thanks to Merrill Garden Assisted Living of Manteca for their thoughtful care this past year.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon on Friday, April 26, at the Patterson District Cemetery, 10800 Highway 33, Patterson.
