A 19-year-old Patterson woman was found unharmed at a Modesto shelter on Saturday, May 25, after she had gone missing from Patterson the previous day, according to Stanislaus County Sheriff's deputies.

Sydni Nicole Sherrill, a 19-year-old developmentally disabled woman, left her home on the 800 block of Miraggio Drive in Patterson at about 1 p.m. Friday, May 24, according to police. Her family reported her as missing later that day.

She was considered an at-risk missing person because of her developmental disability, having the mental capacity of a young child, according to police. A neighbor told the Irrigator on Saturday that it appeared the young woman had left her home on foot.

Police did not identify the person who recognized Sherrill at the shelter Saturday and reported her to police, but they said Sherrill was not injured and in good health.
