Del Puerto High graduation

WHERE: Creekside Middle School gym, 535 Peregrine Drive

DETAILS: Del Puerto High School will graduate 58 seniors in a ceremony on Thursday, May 30 at Creekside Middle School. Diplomas and scholarships will be awarded at this event. Friends and families are invited.

No air horns or balloons are allowed.

Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8

Camp Out Homelessness

WHEN: From 5 p.m. June 7 to 5 p.m. June 8

WHERE: Northmead Elementary School, 625 L St.

DETAILS: Participants will receive sponsorships to sleep outside during the second annual Camp Out Homelessness event. Participants must pay a one-time fee of $30 to reserve a campsite. Food costs have been included. All campsites must consist of five to 10 campers and must be occupied by at least one camper at all times. No drugs, no alcohol and no pets are allowed. Violence or disruptive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. The event will include prizes, games, karaoke, live music, face painting, a barbecue, refreshments and s’mores.

COST: Participants must raise a $25 donation to receive a T-shirt. Businesses and sponsors can donate $100 to be advertised on the T-shirt. Organizers also urge participants to save aluminum cans and plastic bottles for the event.

Bunko box lunch social on tap


WHERE: Westside Theatre, 1331 Main St., Newman

DETAILS: The Center for Human Services - Westside Champions, a group dedicated to celebrating and supporting efforts by CHS on the west side of Stanislaus County, will have its first Bunko box lunch social. Community members are invited to an afternoon of food, friends, fun and prizes. Bunko experience not required. Money raised will support the Center for Human Services that runs the Patterson Teen Center, the Patterson and Newman Family Resource Centers, one-stop shops for families in need, schooling services for children and parenting, emergency food and clothing assistance.

Mobile Medical Clinic

WHEN: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Apricot Valley Elementary School multipurpose room, 11320 Henley Parkway.

DETAILS: The American Legion Post No. 168 and the Department of Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System will host a mobile medical clinic for veterans. No appointment is necessary. Medical exams, consultations, referrals, eligibility and enrollment assistance, claims and assistance will be given to veterans. Representatives from the San Joaquin National Cemetery, California Telephone Access Program and veterans service organizations will also be on hand.
