Yvonne Reynolds won the Best of Show award in the Apricot Fiesta Arts and Crafts Show this weekend for her photo of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge at night.

Local artists entered photography, drawing, painting, mixed media and 3-D crafts exhibits. The 39 pieces of artwork were on display throughout the weekend at City Hall on Plaza Circle.

Reynolds said she took the photo of the bridge in May at the end of a field trip through a Modesto Junior College photography class.

“We were leaving the city and pulled off at Yerba Buena Island, and set up tri-pods to take the shots,” Reynolds said.

Reynolds was also named Best of Show in the local contest nine years ago after submitting a photo of her daughter, Kelsey, eating a cupcake with the sun behind her.

Regina Reid, who has chaired the show for the past five years, said she loves seeing the various artworks presented.

“I’m always real excited to see the kids put out their art,” Reid said. “The participation is growing steadily.”
